Mike Hamstra promoted to MCPASD Transportation Manager

Join us in congratulating Mike Hamstra on his new role as Transportation Manager.

Hamstra started working with our district in 2018 as a bus driver. He held that position for two years before being promoted to Admin Assistant of Routing and Dispatch.

Hamstra officially started his new role as Transportation Manager on Monday, March 21, 2022.

"As I worked here more and started seeing our district's great benefits, I  knew I wanted to stay and grow here," said Hamstra.

Mike Hamstra's love for Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District started when he was a child. He is a product of our school system, having attended Elm Lawn, Sauk Trail, Kromrey, and Middleton High.

Hamstra grew up in a family of educators. Both his mother and aunt taught at MCPASD for over 30+ years. His mom was a teacher at Kromrey for 30 years, followed by ten years at Glacier.

While Hamstra began his career in sales, his passion for helping students and giving back to his community led him back to MCPASD.

"My whole life has been surrounded by education; I love being able to work and help in the community I grew up in," said Hamstra.

Hamstra said one of the best parts about this job is driving a bus. Even though he works in the transportation office, he still drives students to school.

"I love driving buses; the kids are amazing and give me a purpose," he said.

Hamstra has been married to his wife, Emily, for 16 years and has three children Chloe, Tyler, and Brady. Two of which are currently attending our schools.

He loves to go ATV riding and boating with his family in his free time.
