Our vision is to cultivate deeply rooted learners who draw strength and wisdom from their local community, while developing the adaptability and global perspective needed to thrive in an interconnected world. To achieve this, we cultivate a dynamic and inclusive learning environment where every student thrives academically, socially, and emotionally. We ground our practices in equity, innovation, and collaboration, ensuring that each student is empowered to achieve their dreams.

Why We Updated Our Mission and Vision?
In June 2025, the Board of Education approved a new mission and vision for MCPASD. This decision was part of a larger effort to align our strategic direction with the everyday experiences of our students and staff.
Over the past year, we’ve developed what we now call our Continuous Improvement Package, which brings together three foundational elements:
The Vision for Teaching and Learning, which outlines the core practices that drive meaningful classroom instruction
A Cardinal’s Journey, our future-preparedness framework that defines the mindsets and skills students need to thrive
Our Strategic Goals, which provide clear direction for how we support student success systemwide
Together, these tools ensure consistency and coherence across our schools. As this work evolved, we recognized that our previous mission and vision no longer fully reflected our priorities or values.

These updates help align our purpose with our daily practices and provide a strong foundation for our Strategic Goals:
Create a Culture of Learning and Belonging
Focuses on advancing the skills outlined in A Cardinal’s Journey, implementing our instructional framework, supporting social-emotional learning, and promoting professional collaboration. Key performance indicators include AIMSweb and STAR assessments, Pre-ACT scores, student engagement surveys, participation in extracurriculars, and graduation rates.
Align Resources
Ensures that time, funding, staffing, and practices are aligned with district goals in a fiscally responsible way. Key performance indicators include staff compensation, fund balance, enrollment trends, use of technology, renewable energy initiatives, and staff engagement survey data.
Engage Our Community
Centers on building and maintaining trust through transparent, two-way communication. Key performance indicators include family engagement surveys, multiple communication channels, course offerings for students and community members, and community feedback opportunities.
By updating our mission and vision within this larger framework, we are not starting over. We are moving forward with greater clarity and shared purpose—working together to ensure every student is seen, supported, and ready for the future.
