Glacier creek band and orchestra students

It is Throwback Thursday!  We are checking back in on a few talented band and orchestra students from Glacier Creek Middle School who performed alongside opera singer, Prenicia Clifton at the Villager Mall in Madison.

The "Carols in Color" event was an extension of Clifton's non-profit organization, Seein' is Believin' which supports students of color in Madison. She has hosted a concert for the past four years now and has invited the students to return next year.  The event was an awesome experience for students to learn more about music and performing from a professional artist!

"Prenicia Clifton was wonderful with our holiday carol group, teaching them about how to become a good musician, practicing diligently, and getting paid to do what you love.  She sang "O Holy Night" just for our group, which was really beautiful, and she even invited us back for next year.  The kids were excited to do it again" Said encore teacher Anne Vanderbloemen.

A special thank you to Mr. Nichols, Mrs. Kurr, and Ms. Flak for their help with preparation for the event.
