Kindergarten and first-grade students at Park and Pope Farm, along with all 4K students, will have two new dates to pick up iPads, Director of Technology Services Jim Blodgett said.

Devices will now be available at the elementary schools or the District's community 4K sites on Thursday, Sept. 10 and Friday, Sept. 11. Specific windows for pick-up and details about the process will be shared from individual 4K site or elementary school principals in the coming days, Blodgett said.

The District ordered devices for every MCPASD student well in advance of the start of the 2020-21 school year, but there have been delays in technology shipments, Blodgett said.

The first day of instruction for all students is Tuesday, Sept. 8. Live sessions and synchronous learning for Park and Pope Farm kindergarten and first-grade students, along with 4K students, won't begin until Monday, Sept. 14. However, families will receive email messages from staff about learning activities and experiences their children will participate in for the week of Sept. 8-11.

"We apologize for the inconvenience due to the delay of the device delivery, which has been out of our control. We appreciate your patience and truly look forward to connecting with you and partnering in learning this school year,'' Blodgett said.
