The MHS Model United Nations Club participated virtually in the Chicago International Model United Nations Conference (CIMUN) on Feb. 5-7.

The student delegates participated in a variety of committees, including the General Assembly, Arab League, Security Council, Association of Southeast Asian Nations, several corporate committees, the International Press Delegation, and the Cabinets of South Korea, China, and the United States. Topics of the conference included nuclear proliferation, territorial disputes, space exploration, economic growth and stability, among many others.  The conference also included a foreign affairs networking event where students had the opportunity to ask questions of consuls from Australia, Chile, Sweden and the Netherlands.

MHS students Charlotte Neumann, Ava Clark, and Monroe Durand received conference awards for their exceptional individual performance within their committees.

The MHS Model UN Club will next participate virtually in the Mexico City International Model United Nations Conference (MIMUN) on March 11-13, followed by the Northwestern University Model United Nations Conference (NUMUN) in Evanston, Ill. on April 8-11.

The club meets every Monday at 3 p.m. on Zoom and new members are welcome to join at any point during the year. If you are interested in more information, please contact club advisors Ms. Azkoul at lazkoul@mcpasd.k12.wi.us or Ms. Sipiorski at msipiorski@mcpasd.k12.wi.us.
