Middleton High School’s annual Jazz Tracs concerts on Thursday, April 30, and Friday, May 1, will feature special guest Wayne Bergeron. The concerts will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Middleton High School Performing Arts Center.
Bergeron is enjoying a career as one of the most sought-after musicians in the world. His list of recording credits reads like a “who’s who” in contemporary jazz and pop, running the stylistic gamut from Ray Charles to Green Day. He has worked on over 500 TV and motion picture soundtracks. A partial list of film credits includes Red Notice, Turning Red, Soul, Bob’s Burgers, Ford vs. Ferrari, Toy Story 3&4, Frozen 1 & 2, The Lion King (2019), The Secret Life of Pets, Crazy Rich Asians, Sing 1&2, Moana, High School Musical 3, Superman Returns, The Simpson’s Movie, Dreamgirls, Hairspray, Spiderman 1 & 2, Team America and South Park.
His featured trumpet solos can be heard on the motion pictures West Side Story (2021 Steven Spielberg), La La Land, Sing, The Incredibles 1 & 2, Rocky Balboa, The Secret Life of Pets 2, Minions, Minions 2: The Rise of Gru, and many others. His numerous TV credits include Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, SAG Awards, NBC, ESPN and TNT sports themes, Grammy Awards, Family Guy, American Dad, Simpson’s, Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune, among others.
The April 30 performance will feature Bergeron along with Middleton High School’s 7 O'Clock Jazz Band and Jazz Orchestra. The May 1 concert will feature Bergeron along with Middleton High School’s 7 O'Clock Jazz Band, Jazz Lab and Cardinal Big Band as well as Kromrey Middle School’s jazz band.
Ahead of the concerts, Bergeron will host clinics with students from all four of Middleton High School’s jazz ensembles as well as middle school musicians.
Tickets for both performances are $11 for adults and $6 for students and can be purchased online. Proceeds from ticket sales help fund Bergeron's visit and Middleton High School’s jazz program.
