The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District (MCPASD) will host a Family and Community Wellness Morning event on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Glacier Creek Middle School at 2800 North Military Road in Cross Plains.

Community members as well as MCPASD students, families and staff are welcome to attend this free event. It features activities including family yoga, tech fun, snow art, free health checks from Cross Plains EMS, family fitness, trishaw rides from Northwest Dean Senior Services, arts and crafts, and more.

It’s open to the public, but registration is required. Register at https://forms.gle/qm83KihsWS5Vm73X6. On-site registration is also available on Feb. 21.

“We’re excited to host community members along with our school community for a morning of winter fun,” said MCPASD Wellness Coordinator Kalise Horst. “We’re committed to cultivating a learning environment that prioritizes the health and well-being of our educators and our students. Our Snow-Capades event is an opportunity to extend our approach throughout our larger community.”

Summer School and Community Outreach Coordinator Amy Schernecker thanked the community partners supporting the event, including the Rosemary Garfoot Public Library, Cross Plains Police, Cross Plains EMS, Cross Plains Lions Club, Cross Plains Scouts of America, Cross Plains Cub Scouts, Northwest Dean Senior Services, Challenge Fit, Willy Street Co-op, DashStrom and Dean Health Plan by Medica. She also thanked students from Middleton High School’s Best Buddies Club, Key Club and Mountain Bike Club as well as MCPASD’s Technology Services team for their support of the event.
