The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District is thrilled to announce that Middleton High School has been recognized as the #1 school in the Madison Metro Area and the 14th best school in Wisconsin in the 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report’s Best High Schools rankings.
“Earning national recognition reflects the dedication and commitment of our teachers, staff, students, and families,” said Middleton High School Principal Bobbie Reinhart. “We’re proud of our strong academic foundation and our exceptional programming in arts, athletics, and career and technical education. This recognition proves that we’re on the right path as we work to continue our school’s tradition of excellence.”
In addition to the U.S. News & World Report rankings, MCPASD has been recognized by Niche as one of the highest-rated school districts in Wisconsin for five consecutive years. The rating reflects the District’s commitment to academic excellence, student support, and community partnerships.
Another indicator of the District’s strength as an employer includes being the first school district honored with a 2025 Wisconsin State Journal Top Workplaces Award earlier this year.
“It’s especially inspiring to receive the U.S. News & World Report honor as we start the new school year and prepare to welcome students for another year of growth and development,” added Reinhart. “We’re excited for the year ahead and look forward to maintaining a school environment where everyone feels empowered to grow into the best version of themselves.”
