The 2025–26 school year has been a standout one for Middleton High School athletics, with Cardinals teams and student-athletes earning multiple conference titles, individual honors and several WIAA state championships.
Team State Championships
Middleton High School teams captured multiple state titles this year, continuing a strong tradition of excellence across the District’s athletic programs.
The girls swim and dive team secured its third consecutive WIAA Division 1 state championship on Nov. 15. The Cardinals finished the meet with 363.5 points, outpacing the runner-up by 147.5 points. Strong performances across the lineup and a deep, talented roster helped power the team to another dominant finish.
The boys swim and dive team followed with another historic performance, earning its fourth consecutive Division 1 state championship on Feb. 21. The Cardinals scored 306 points to hold off Brookfield Central/East and complete the program’s first four-peat.
The accomplishment places Middleton High School among elite company in state history. The Cardinals became the eighth program in Wisconsin to win four straight state titles and the first Division 1 boys program to do so in a decade.
Middleton High School also celebrated a championship season on the volleyball court. The boys volleyball team, led by head coach Dylan Griffith, finished the season undefeated and captured the state championship, capping off a remarkable run for the Cardinals.
Individual State Champions
Several Middleton High School student-athletes also earned individual state titles this year.
Freshman diver Hanna Jodlowski captured the Division 1 diving state championship with a score of 490.75 at the WIAA state meet. Fellow freshman Quinn Mazur finished close behind with a score of 489.65, earning second place and highlighting a strong future for the Cardinals diving program.
On the wrestling mat, junior Reed Falk won the Division 1 190-pound state championship at the WIAA Individual State Tournament at the Kohl Center in Madison. Falk finished the season undefeated at 51–0, defeating River Falls’ Jacob Hutchins 10–3 in the championship match. His victory made him the third state champion in Middleton High School wrestling history and the first since Coach Keven Meicher won in 2016!
With multiple state championships, individual titles and conference honors already secured, the 2025–26 school year has been a memorable one for Middleton High School athletics. We’re excited to see Cardinals student-athletes take on the spring season as they continue to showcase excellence, teamwork and dedication.
