The MHS DECA program had 27 students finish in the top four at the District 3 virtual competition recently.

In all, 39 MHS DECA members competed at the conference, which was held virtually due to the pandemic  Students performed a role play and took an exam related to their event.  Since there wasn't a face-to-face role play with a judge, the students read over their scenario and then recorded their role play for the judge to score.

"It was basically a one sided role play, " MHS DECA adviser Robert Hutchison said. "While there wasn't any interaction with the judge, the students were still able to display their presentation skills through the video."

Students who finish in the top four are considered series champions. MHS also had 10 students who received honorable mention recognition for finishing fifth, sixth or seventh.
