Dr. Nancy Johnson-Cramer, a former occupational therapist in the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District, made a $1,000 donation to the District in honor of her late husband, Gregg “Doc” Cramer, at the Nov. 3 Board of Education meeting.
“Tonight, we are honored to accept a generous and deeply meaningful donation of $1,000 from Dr. Nancy Johnson-Cramer, given in loving memory of her late husband, Doc Cramer,” Superintendent Dr. Dana Monogue said during the presentation of the donation.
Johnson-Cramer hosted community events in partnership with Ukulele and Luau groups in Dane County to raise funds for the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation. The gift will be used to strengthen safety and wellness in MCPASD schools.
“These funds will support safety education, provide resources for our students, and help student organizations that promote wellness and awareness throughout our District,” Monogue said.
Monogue noted the gift will extend Cramer’s legacy for another generation of students.
“Doc was a cherished member of our MCPASD family who served this District for 30 years,” Monogue said. ”His dedication to our students and staff never faded. Even after decades of service, he continued to work as a substitute teacher until his passing in 2024. His kindness, his commitment, and the way he showed up for our students every day reflect the very best of who we are as a community.”
In addition to Cramer and Johnson-Cramer’s service to the District, their three children attended and graduated from MCPASD schools. Their son Casey Cramer was among this year’s inductees into Middleton High School’s Athletics Hall of Fame.
“On behalf of the School Board, our administration, and the students who will benefit from this gift, we thank you, Dr. Johnson-Cramer,” Monogue said during the presentation of the donation. “Your generosity and love for this community carry forward the spirit of compassion and dedication that Doc shared with us for so many years.”
