Deputy Superintendent, Sherri Cyra, Presents at Professional Development for Healthy Schools Conference

Earlier this month, Deputy Superintendent Sherri Cyra was a featured presenter at the 2022 Professional Development for Healthy Schools Conference in Tucson, Arizona. The conference allows district and school representatives to go deeper into topics that include student and staff mental and social-emotional health through a lens of health equity.

Crya and Jessica Lawrence, the owner of Cairn Guidance, co-facilitated the opening sessions of the PD4HS Institute, which is part of the 5-year Healthy Schools grant from the CDC.

The presentation focused on creating deep team engagement simulations. Participants were confronted with realistic decisions and experiences and were compelled to consider new ways of looking at their goals and work.

Among the 200 participants were representatives from the 16 State Departments of Education that receive grant funding, staff members from their respective priority school districts, and representatives from national organizations such as The School Superintendents Association and The Collaborative for Advancing Social and Emotional Learning.

Cairn Guidance brings over 15 years of experience facilitating system change with state education agencies, funders and grantees to:

  • effectively navigate and change complex systems
  • get unstuck by learning how to leverage change
  • understand complex processes in engaging and interactive ways

Congratulations to our Deputy Superintendent for leading this amazing work and change!
