MHS had 28 students place in the top three at the virtual Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Region V Leadership Conference on Saturday, Feb. 6. 

MHS had 37 students participate in this year's regional conference, FBLA adviser Bill Boehm said. The 28 students who placed in the top three will compete in the virtual State Leadership Conference on April 12-13.

MHS also took second place in the Outstanding Regional Chapter award for the FBLA Region V Leadership Conference. 

FBLA members compete in various academic events, practicing skills necessary for areas of interest related to Business and Information Technology.  

MHS state qualifiers include: 

First place: Halle Fischer/Tyler Pincombe/Olivia Underwood (Graphic Design), Erin Gonter (Business Law), Franklin Hu (Economics), Rohan Kommuri (Entrepreneurship) Ambrose Engling (Intro to Business Procedures), Dheeraj Pasikanti, Jonathan Kim and Dhruv Prakash (Management Decision-Making), Emily Weber (Publication Design), Lauren Poehling (Political Science), Annika Halliqust, Esha Mahalingam, and Jasmine Singh (Social Media Strategies).

Second place: Emery Engling, Gene Kim, Jaden Lee (International Business), Maria Go (Sports & Entertainment Marketing), Aarush Jain (Business Calculations), Bridget Holahan (Business Communications), Genevieve Kubsh (Political Science), Azaria Spencer (Website Design)

Third place: Anders Clark (Advertising), Jenna Rogers and Josie Thomas (Broadcast Journalism), Sam Von Ruden (Intro to FBLA), Catherine Bouril (Personal Finance)
