The District is asking families of 4K and elementary students to take a few minutes to complete this form if they want their child to switch instructional models.

On Monday, Dec. 7, the Board of Education tentatively approved students in PK through second grade returning to school buildings in a half-day blended model starting on Monday, Jan. 25.

You will need your child’s student identification number to access the form. The student ID number was included in a communication to families on Wednesday. It is also available in Campus Parent Portal.

Families should complete the form ONLY if they want their 4K-4th grade student to CHANGE from one instructional model to the other. If they don’t want to change models, there is no need to fill out the form. This is the ONLY time the District will be allowing elementary students to change instructional models for the rest of the 2020-21 school year. This form will close at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec 15.

A reminder here are the two instructional learning models:

  • Fully Virtual: Mostly independent learning at home with some Zoom meetings. These students will do their learning from home for the rest of the 2020-21 school year.
  • Universal: 4K, kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students will attend half-days in person on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays. Asynchronous (non-live learning) will take place on Wednesdays and the other half of the day when students aren’t in person at school.
  • If you aren’t sure which instructional model your child is currently in, please check with their classroom teacher.

Students in grades 3-4 who select the Universal model will continue with live learning via Zoom and assignments in Seesaw. When the School Board decides that students in grades 3-4 will return to school buildings, these students will also come to school for half of the day.

A separate transportation form, that will also let families know if their child will attend in-person in the morning (7:45 to 10:15 a.m.) or afternoon (12:15 to 2:45 p.m.), will go out on Dec. 18. The District will not take requests about what time slot a child is assigned.
