Superintendent’s Advisory Committee Elevates Student Voice

Superintendent Dr. Dana Monogue launched the Superintendent’s Advisory Committee this school year to hear firsthand from students about their experiences in the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District.

The committee brings together a diverse group of students from across the high school level to engage in open and thoughtful conversations about school life. Through regular meetings, students have the opportunity to share their perspectives, ideas, and feedback directly with district leadership in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Meetings are designed to encourage dialogue, teamwork, and problem-solving. Students participate in discussions and hands-on activities that allow them to reflect on their school experiences, identify areas of strength, and offer insight into opportunities for growth. These conversations help district leaders better understand how decisions and initiatives impact students on a daily basis.

Listening to our students is essential to who we are as a district,” said Superintendent Dr. Dana Monogue. “The Superintendent’s Advisory Committee gives students a direct voice with district leadership, and the ideas they share are inspiring. Our students bring thoughtful perspectives and innovative ideas that help shape more informed, student-centered decisions.”

In addition to regular committee members, district leaders are invited to attend meetings to hear directly from students and gather their feedback, creating meaningful opportunities for dialogue and connection.

“The conversations happening within this committee are powerful,” said Tony Dugas, Director of Student, Family and Staff Engagement. “When leaders take the time to listen to students and learn from their experiences, it builds trust, strengthens engagement, and helps us create stronger connections across our schools and community.”

The Superintendent’s Advisory Committee reflects MCPASD’s commitment to elevating student voice and ensuring students play an active role in shaping the future of the district.
