The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District (MCPASD) is proud to announce that Middleton High School ranks first in Dane County and second in Wisconsin among public, non-charter schools for 2025 ACT composite scores. Middleton High School’s average ACT composite score is 24.0.
“We have a strong foundation of academic excellence at Middleton High School, and this data confirms that we remain on the right track,” said MCPASD Superintendent Dr. Dana Monogue. “The test scores also reflect the commitment of our outstanding teachers, staff, students, and families to maintaining our school’s tradition of excellence. We are grateful for our educators’ tremendous support of our students and for our administration’s focus on the right work.”
The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) released the results of standardized tests from the 2024-2025 school year on Sept. 25. Full assessment data is available on the DPI’s WISEdash Public Portal.
ACT composite scores represent an average of a student’s English, math, and reading test scores.
“Our teachers play significant roles in helping students prepare for standardized exams as well as working to engage students in meaningful learning every day,” said MCPASD Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Dr. Jan Chynoweth. “We empower our educators to best support our students, and it’s rewarding to see this data and know the extraordinary impact our teachers and staff are making in our students’ lives.”
The District recently introduced A Cardinal’s Journey, a future-preparedness framework that serves as a guide for student success. It helps students develop the skills and mindsets necessary to succeed academically and in the rest of their lives.
“As our students prepare for graduation and their post-high school journeys, these test scores are strong indicators that our students will continue to achieve excellence in college and beyond,” said Middleton High School Principal Bobbie Reinhart. “While we celebrate these results, we know there’s always room for growth. We remain committed to fostering a learning environment where all our students are empowered to grow into the best version of themselves.”
