Congratulations to Sunset Ridge 4th grader Zhenya Sam for being selected as the Optimist Club of Cross Plains "Student of the Month."
Zhenya is a friendly, hard-working student who is always ready to help others. She helped Sunset Ridge launch the Safety Patrol program and volunteers in the morning to keep students safe during drop-off.
Zhenya is also helping design a new playground for our youngest students. This will be a tremendous addition to the school!
Sunset Ridge is a better place because Zhenya is a student there. Principal Wilfred was honored to join her family and the Optimist Club for this recognition.
Congratulations, Zhenya!

After careful consideration, the district has decided to close all schools today, Thursday, December 15, 2022.
All extracurricular activities will be canceled today, as well.

The Sunset Ridge PTA is excited to bring back the tradition of the Winter Tea Art Showcase on Friday, December 9th. In order to make the event as magical for our students and families, we need your help! Please click on both signup links (one is for volunteering the day of the event and the other one is for the cookie donation). Each class needs to donate 14 dozen cookies - feel free to sign up for more than one slot on each link. The more help and participation we get, the better the event will be for the kiddos. The PTA can't run this event by themselves - participation is needed from families to make it successful!

Last Monday we had the awesome opportunity to celebrate one of our
2021 Sun Run Prizes.
READING ON THE BLACK TOP! Principal Mrs. Dyslin read to all Sunset Students at 9 STORIES HIGH!(good thing Mrs. Dyslin is not afraid of heights). The students cheered as our principal read from what some students would say "the sky", it was a beautiful day to come together. Lets give a huge shoutout to Middleton Fire Department and fellow P.E Teacher/volunteer firefighter Ms. Franklin for providing us with an awesome opportunity.
We thank you for giving us a once in a lifetime event!

Please make sure that homemade items are in easy to access servings and be sure to use good hand hygiene/use of gloves when making homemade food items. Store bought items are also great!

Unity Day Celebration: Oct. 20th, 2021
On Wednesday, Oct. 20th Sunset Ridge will recognize the importance of encouraging an inclusive and safe learning environment. Our focus is what we expect to see: respectful, kind, and inclusive behavior (the opposite of bullying). We hope you and your child/children will join us in an act of unity by wearing the color orange on Oct. 20th, 2021. Although this act is simple, we hope that it sends a clear message that we take the matter seriously and want every child to feel comfortable and safe at all times- All Are Welcome Here.
Thank you for encouraging and supporting an environment of kindness at home and school. If you would like to learn more about Unity Day and other ways to encourage an inclusive and safe environment, check out the Pacer National Bullying Prevention Center @ this address.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Metz
Sunset Ridge School Counselor
