📸 School Picture Day is Coming Up – Parent Volunteers Needed!
School photos will be taken on Monday, October 5.
With so many smiling faces to photograph, we need a few parent volunteers to help the day run smoothly!
Volunteers will help manage student lines, assist kids with handing their picture information to the photographer, and keep things moving on schedule.

Important Volunteer Requirement: To ensure school safety, all volunteers must stop by the main office upon arrival and present a valid driver’s license for a quick background check before heading to the photo area.

Join Pope Farm at this Year's Homecoming Parade - Wednesday, September 23!
Pope Farm Elementary families are invited to walk, march, or stroll in this year's Homecoming Parade on Wednesday, September 23! The high school's theme is ‘Welcome to Paradise’ and at Pope Farm we are calling it ‘Paradise on the Prairie!’
Whether you want to push a stroller, decorate a wagon to match the theme, or just walk and wave, we want you there to help us represent our school.
Timeline: Meet at 5:30 pm to line up. The parade officially starts moving at 6:00 pm.
Meeting Location: The Early Childhood Center
How to Prep: Dress in your school colors or fun ‘Paradise on the Prairie’ gear, and bring your walking shoes, wagons, or strollers!
Map: The map is noted - please follow the map directions.

Back to School Night is Tonight, Tuesday, August 25 (4:00 – 6:00 p.m.)
We are so excited to welcome you all back to school! Here are the quick highlights for tonight:
-Teachers & Encore: Small-group classroom sessions are by sign-up slot. Stop by anytime to meet our Library, STEAM, Art, Music, and PE teachers!
-School Supplies: Pre-ordered kits are already in classrooms. Bringing your own? Drop them off tonight so your child is set for day one!
-Food Trucks: Grab dinner from Tom’s Coffee, Kona Ice, Chick-fil-A, or Steve's Tacos. Proceeds support our school!
- PTO Drive: Bringing extra supplies? Drop them off with the PTO to help families in need.
- Staff On-Site: Administration, Student Services, Specialists, and our School Nurse will be available to answer any questions.
🎈 Upcoming Kindergarten Playdate!
Join the Pope Farm PTO for a fun, informal playdate on the school playground (behind the main building) this Saturday, August 22, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
It’s a wonderful chance for incoming Kindergarteners to play together and for families to make new connections before the school year begins. The PTO hopes to see you there!

The PTO wrapped up the school year with their monthly PTO Share Nights, and the results are in: they raised just shy of $3,000!
What a wonderful way to bring our community together while supporting our school. Thank you so much to everyone who came out, grabbed a bite, and showed their support this year. We couldn't do it without you!

Farm Day, May 29
On Friday, May 29 during farm day, students will be busy planting in the gardens and painting with paint that will not wash out of clothes. We'll do our best to keep clothes clean, but please consider sending your student in clothes that can get dirty! Also remember comfortable shoes as we'll be walking to Forward Garden!

Social Emotional Learning Theme for May/June - Hands that Celebrate Us! 🖐️✨

We are thrilled to announce that Pope Farm Elementary took home First Place at the Sunset Ridge Scholastic Chess Championship 2026 held on April 25th!
Our students showed incredible focus, strategy, and sportsmanship, outmaneuvering a field of talented competitors to claim the top spot. It was a day filled with intense matches and brilliant "Checkmate" moments.
A huge congratulations to our dedicated chess team and a special thank you to the coaches and parents who supported them every move of the way.

April SEL Theme: "Hands That Create Change"
This month, our school-wide Social Emotional Learning (SEL) focus shifts to action. While we often tell children they can change the world "someday," this month we are showing them they are doing it now.
By focusing on how "hands create change," we are fostering a growth mindset and a sense of civic responsibility. Whether a student is creating, helping, or fixing, they are learning that they aren't just observers of the world—they are the architects of it. We look forward to highlighting the moments where our students’ actions make a tangible, positive impact this month.

This month students will learn about:
How to solve our problems using S.T.E.P
- S: Say the problem
- T: Think of solutions (Kelso Choices)
- E: Explore consequences
- P: Pick the best solution
Using S.T.E.P with different scenarios like
- Being left out
- Playing unfairly
- Making amends
- Name-calling
These STEPS help students solve problems with each other in a safe and respectful way.
Spring Scholastic Bookfair, Tuesday, March 10
We are pleased to announce that our Spring Scholastic Book Fair will be held for one day only on Tuesday, March 10, from 2:45 PM to 7:00 PM in Room 202 (Upstairs LGI).
For those unable to attend in person, our Online Fair will be available from March 9 through March 22. Full event details can be found on our school’s Book Fair homepage.
