Safety and Security Coordinator Asher Torbeck was interviewed on WMTV 15 News about Dane County's School Safety Forum. The forum brings together law enforcement officers, emergency responders, firefighters, and school officials from Dane County and surrounding areas to learn about and discuss school safety issues.
Torbeck serves on the forum's steering committee, and he shared the resources and networking opportunities the forum offers to its members. All public schools in Dane County as well as several private schools belong to the forum, which meets quarterly and hosts training events throughout the year.

Torbeck hosted a Safety and Security Night event for MCPASD families and community members on Dec. 10 at Park Elementary School. He shared an overview of how MCPASD works to maintain a safe and secure environment, including building safety protocols, the Standard Response Protocol used across the District, and ongoing staff training.
Torbeck also outlined MCPASD's reunification process and how families would be informed and supported in the event of an emergency. Members of the Middleton Police Department, Cross Plains Police Department, and the Dane County Sheriff’s Office also attended the event and shared their expertise.
