8th grade students are currently working on designing eco-friendly homes using the knowledge they have collected over the course of their Climate Change Unit. They are considering the best renewable products to power their home, as well as products that can reduce their energy and water usage. Here you can see students Luke Chandler and Elijah Covey working on the floor plan blueprint for their homes. They have to consider all of the items throughout the house that would allow them to continue a similar lifestyle to their current routine but with a lens towards conservation and determining what is essential to their needs. The project serves as an opportunity for students to problem solve and find ways to reduce their carbon footprint.
