Middleton High School Class of 2023 graduate Shayen Sehgal is continuing his work in motorsports and engineering at Purdue University, where he is serving as president of the Purdue Motorsports Engineering Club (PMEC).
Sehgal, who was a member of the MHS racing team, joined PMEC during his first week at Purdue and has taken on several roles within the organization. He now leads a club with more than 250 members, making it the largest student organization on Purdue’s Indianapolis campus.
Under Sehgal’s leadership, PMEC is introducing a new structure that includes Design, Data, Fabrication, Sponsorship, Branding and Media teams, in addition to its Purdue Grand Prix program and Modified MG. The changes are designed to expand hands-on engineering opportunities and create additional pathways for members to develop leadership skills.
Sehgal’s continued involvement in motorsports and engineering reflects the opportunities students can pursue as they build on their interests and experiences at Middleton High School.
