musicians who qualified  for the 2026 Wisconsin School Music Association High School State Honors Project

Nineteen musicians from Middleton High School - the most from any school in the state - have been invited to participate in the 2026 Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) High School State Honors Project. The selected students are in grades 9-11 and represent Middleton High School’s band, choral and orchestra programs.

Congratulations to the following students who qualified for the honors ensembles this year: Dina Abdel-Megid (voice), Olive Ballard (voice), William Battaglia (trombone), Ethan Bregman (oboe), Fritz Bush (trumpet), Diya Chilukuri (violin), Madison DeRidder (flute), Vivan Feng (violin), Peter Francois (violin), Pierson Frank (euphonium), Isaac Freiburg (voice), Benjamin Gordon (horn), Maren Kuhn (bass clarinet), Hailey Marshall (viola), Ilyaas Razvi (tuba), Selah Streets (voice), Audrey VanBendegom (trumpet), Charlie Vanderbloemen (horn) and Mateo Vazquez (bass clarinet).

Students from around the state auditioned in February for a panel of adjudicators. Selected students participate in a four-day summer camp in June at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay campus and perform at the Overture Center in Madison during the last week of October as part of the Wisconsin State Music Conference.
