Joanna Cree Named Associate Principal and ACP Coordinator of Kromrey Middle School

The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District is proud to announce the appointment of Joanna Cree as an associate principal and academic and career planning (ACP) coordinator at Kromrey Middle School.

Cree has spent 13 years with MCPASD, first as a teacher at Sauk Trail Elementary School. She has served more than a decade at the middle level at Kromrey Middle School as an encore teacher, a classroom teacher, and most recently, an instructional coach. Cree joins Principal Dom Ricks and Associate Principal Eric Engel as part of Kromrey Middle School’s leadership team.

“Joanna clearly demonstrated the key factors we are looking for in a new member of our leadership team,” Ricks said. “We are excited for what she will continue to contribute to the middle level within her new role.”

In her previous role as an instructional coach, Cree was instrumental in developing and launching collaborative planning teams (C3s) as well as professional learning opportunities. She also served as a mentor for new teachers, which she said is one of her favorite parts of being a leader.

“I firmly believe that the most effective solutions and greatest progress emerge when we work together,” Cree said. “I love learning alongside staff and students to contribute to a collaborative and learning culture as we strive to continue to engage and empower our students to achieve their dreams.”

Cree earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her master’s degree in educational leadership from Viterbo University. In addition to her principal licensure, she also holds licensure as a director of curriculum and instruction.

Our District welcomes Cree to her new role, and we look forward to her continued leadership at Kromrey Middle School and within the MCPASD community.
