The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District (MCPASD) is proud to announce that Middleton High School Associate Principal Carmen Klassy has been selected as the new principal of Glacier Creek Middle School, effective July 1, 2025.

Klassy joined MCPASD in 2019 as an Associate Principal at Middleton High School. She served as Associate Principal for the Fine Arts, English, World Language, and Bilingual Resource Departments. Prior to joining MCPASD, Klassy served as principal of Oakfield Middle/High School in Oakfield, Wisconsin, for five years.

Klassy will assume her new role when current Glacier Creek Middle School Principal Ken Metz begins his new role as the District’s Director of Secondary Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.

“We’re beyond grateful for Carmen’s leadership at Middleton High School, and I’m delighted that Glacier Creek Middle School students, families and staff will now benefit from Carmen’s leadership, compassion and expertise,” said MCPASD Superintendent Dr. Dana Monogue. “Carmen’s well known for her work with Middleton High School’s multilingual learners, and she made it her mission to lift their voices. We’re excited to see Carmen share her passion for education with our middle school learners.”

Klassy shared her leadership approach and principalship vision.

“Working with students is where I thrive,” Klassy said. “The role of principal is meaningful to me because it allows me to have a great impact on the development of all students. As the principalship has developed into the role of a lead learner, it has become something that I am even more passionate about.”

Klassy noted how her experience at Middleton High School will extend to Glacier Creek Middle School.

“I love to learn and grow right alongside our teachers to become better versed in all academic areas,” Klassy said. “Also, I love looking for ways to empower teachers. Another important aspect for me of being a principal is spending time with students. At Middleton High School, I have done this by partnering with a teacher for advisory and by being an advisor for our Seal of Biliteracy program.”
