MCPASD Families,

We have been transparent with you regarding the staffing shortages we face as a district during
this pandemic. This has caused strain on our current staff as we have asked them to fulfill tasks
outside of their job duties in order to keep our schools open.
We’ve had district leaders drive routes in order to get kids to school, teachers subbing during
their planning period, and staff helping serve lunches at school.

In this short video, Superintendent Dr. Dana Monogue explains why she is adjusting our school
year calendar and giving staff February 14 and 15 off. Students will not attend school on February 14th, 15th, and 16th.

This decision means middle and high school students could need to have asynchronous
learning on potential snow days after February 16th.

We understand that this is an inconvenience to some families, but please know that we also
need to prioritize the well-being and mental health of our teachers, bus drivers, lunch staff,
principals, etc., that we love.
