MCPASD is accepting donations of new and gently used winter gear items through Oct. 23 ahead of the second annual Winter Gear Giveaway event on Oct. 24.
All MCPASD schools and buildings are collecting these donations to use during the Winter Gear Giveaway on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Sauk Trail Elementary School. During the event, families in need can take home free items to stay warm and safe throughout the approaching winter season. During the first giveaway in 2025, more than 255 students and families attended and took home essential gear.
“We found in recent years that an increased number of our students and families were demonstrating a need for essential winter items,” said Grace Gengler, school social worker at Sauk Trail Elementary School. “The goal of this event is to offer a centralized experience where students and families can select the items that best fit their preferences and their needs.”
Most-needed donation items include winter coats, hats, snow boots, snow pants, gloves, mittens, scarves, and blankets in a variety of sizes 2T through Adult. Community members can also choose to purchase items directly from our Amazon wishlist or make a monetary donation to the MCPASD Education Foundation.
“We appreciate the generosity and partnership of the MCPASD community members and families that have donated, as well as the Middleton Education Association for sponsoring our donation bins,” Gengler said.
Thank you for your support in keeping our students and families safe and warm this winter!
