MCPASD is excited to host its first Future Cardinals event on Feb. 24 to share more resources with parents and caregivers as they prepare young children for their 4K journey.

Many formative learning steps in a child’s life occur as early as the newborn stages. District families with children from infancy to 4K ages are invited to hear from MCPASD 4K program leaders as well as Dane County groups that specialize in educational, childcare, and mental health services.

“The District is rich in a history of offerings for families and communities,” said MCPASD Community Outreach Coordinator Amy Schernecker. “Community organizations will provide information as well as answer caregivers’ questions.”

“Organizations and family members will come together, and we hope to inform future offerings,” added MCPASD 4K/Early Learning Principal Katie Kavanaugh.

The District’s high-quality 4K program is a play-based program that supports the social, emotional, and academic skills of our youngest learners. Leaders will answer questions about the program and how families can register their children.

In addition, the Middleton and Cross Plains Parks and Recreation Departments and libraries, Madison Reading Project, Craig Yabuki Mental Health Center, Joining Forces for Families, and more organizations will be on site to raise awareness of the support they provide for young children as well as their families.

Families are encouraged to register in advance for the event, happening on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the Early Learning Center on Clark Street in Middleton from 5-6:30 p.m. Learn more about the outreach efforts by viewing the event flyer in English and in Spanish.
