Dear Parents and Guardians,

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome each of you and your families to West Middleton!

As the Board of the West Middleton PTO (Parent, Teacher Organization) it is our responsibility to introduce you to our organization and to talk with you about getting involved. The PTO is a collaborative organization of parents and teachers. Our mission is to foster a nurturing and caring environment and to enrich the educational experience of all West Middleton students. We strive to support our school community so that our outstanding teachers and administrators are able to do their best work.

The successful realization of any worthy goal requires dedication and resources. Through our past fundraising efforts, the PTO has been able to donate substantial funds to purchase educational materials and equipment, upgrade the playground, provide assemblies, field trips, and many other activities. Human resources and volunteered time are critical to our success. For the PTO to be effective and truly representative of the school it is essential to have involvement from as many parents as possible.

There are countless ways in which you can help. Whatever your availability, West Middleton PTO always appreciates their parent volunteers, as do our teachers and staff! Keep in mind that by volunteering, you will get to enjoy interacting with your kids and their friends, meet other parents, and truly help to make a difference in your child’s school experience. Whether you can spare thirty minutes a month or a few hours a week, your ideas, your time, and your talents are truly needed. We can match your interests and time constraints to needed tasks. Please consider volunteering, it really does make a difference in the lives of your children!
Research shows that students whose parents are involved in their education have better grades and fewer discipline problems. We promise that the time you give will be worth your while – and fun!

The PTO strives to bring parents and the teachers together to share thoughts and ideas about programs and activities that benefit children and families. Our PTO provides information through email, family activities, newsletters, quarterly parent meetings, our website and via other communication channels.

Please join us! We invite you to attend our first meeting on Thursday, September 15th, at 7:00 pm to find out for yourselves what we are all about… we need your ideas and energy! Becoming active is really easy, and it really does make a difference! We look forward to a successful year.
