From the Principal...

Welcome to the Sunset Ridge Elementary School! We are very proud of the students, staff and community that our school serves. Likewise, we are equally proud of the strong and effective educational program that has been implemented at Sunset Ridge Elementary. Our staff is greatly committed to the educational success and safety of all the students attending our school. We value and appreciate the importance of active parent involvement in their child's education and in our school. Together we will work to meet the academic and social needs of each student.

Mission Statement

The community at Sunset Ridge Elementary School will strive to create a learning environment where students and staff are able to develop to their full potential. We will do this through our commitment to personal and academic excellence, respect for diversity, open communication and encouragement of life long learning.

Goals for 2007-2010

• At least  93 % of all students in grades 3, 4 and 5 (combined) will score at the proficient or advanced level in Reading on the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Exam averaged over the next three years (2007-2010). 

• At least 90% of all students in grade 4 will score at the proficient or advanced level in Language Arts on the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Exam averaged over the next three years (2007-2010)
• At least 65% of students in all demographic groups in grades 3, 4 and 5 (combined) will score at the proficient or advanced level in Math on the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Exam, averaged over the next 3 years (2007-2010).

Enrollment

• Approximately 485 students in grades K-5. (The building was designed with a capacity of 500 students.)
• Class sizes range from 18 to 25 students per classroom.
