Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers help to make our school a success. With parent involvement, amazing things can be accomplished. Here are some of the areas where the PTA Volunteer Coordinators are looking for help at Sunset Ridge. To volunteer for one of these opportunities, please contact a PTA officer.

• Committee Chairs
  The PTA sponsors many great events and programs throughout the school year. Your help is needed to keep these programs running. Committee Chairs or Co-Chairs are currently needed for the following committees:
  
  Memory Book Co-Chair
  Product Labels - Cubs
  School Supply Kit Chairs
  Thanksgiving Luncheon

• Library Volunteers
  We were hoping that some folks out there could come and help shelve books. Some knowledge of how a library works would help, but we'll provide training, if necessary. Some have said that shelving is actually therapeutic (honest!!) Anyway, we will take all comers - an hour once a week, several hours in one day, whatever. You can even listen to a book tape while you shelve, bring your own or use one of ours. Please contact Mr. Anderson, for more information!



• Yearbook Photographers
  A yearbook or memory book is put together for the students at the end of each school year. Volunteers are needed to take photos throughout the year and forward them to the yearbook committee. Go to the PTA's Yearbook Page on this site for more information on this committee.



• Special Project Volunteers
  Do you have a particular skill or talent you would like to share with the school community? Let us know about it by contacting the school office.



• Corporate Support
  If you or a company you know is willing to donate to the PTA either with a cash donation or product donation for one of our PTA events, please contact a PTA officer. All donations are appreciated and are tax deductible.

Please remember, one of the most important ways that a parent can volunteer, is to look over the paper's your child brings home every night, help your child with any homework, read notes sent home, check and sign assignment notebooks and read with your child every day. This is the most important thing you can do to help at school!
