Annual Fundraiser

Thank you for your continued support and assistance in making your child's school - Sunset Ridge Elementary - a positive and academic rich environment in which all children feel safe, accepted and encouraged to do and be their best. We are all very fortunate to be part of this community. However, this type of environment doesn't just happen. It grows and flourishes with active parents, like you, who want the very best academic experience for their children and are willing to help in the form of donations and volunteer assistance.

A couple of years ago, the PTA surveyed the parent community regarding the fundraising activities that have been part of the Sunset Ridge culture for many years.The result was that 90% of parents surveyed reported they would prefer making a monetary contribution over a fundraising program. As a result, the PTA is asking parents to donate a $25-per-student monetary tax-deductible contribution to the PTA. These dollars will be 100% beneficial to the PTA, whereas during product-based fundraisers, only 50% of the dollars raised return to the Sunset Ridge PTA.

Our goal is to raise $12,500 (500 students x $25 per student)

The Sunset Ridge PTA has provided its student body and teachers with amazing benefits with the monies raised by fundraisers. Field trips, books, classroom and playground purchases, all-school performances, and special after-school programs have all been provided to ALL STUDENTS, regardless of the involvement of each family in fundraising currently the PTA spends over $60 per student per year on special programs, field trips, activities and resources!

It is critical to continue raising monies for PTA programming at Sunset Ridge. This is especially true with the significantly higher gas and transportation costs for field trips and the ever rising number of students and staff at Sunset. Each family is strongly encouraged to participate at the level that they can...contributions of more than $25 per student will be graciously accepted. With the funds received by the Monetary Contribution program, the PTA expects to keep the programming at the same level as in the past years. A school-wide Spring Fundraiser will only be considered if the budget needs are not met.

Popular fundraising events such as the Winter Carnival and the Spaghetti Dinner may continue, but they are volunteer-dependant and your ongoing involvement in these school activities will remain just as important as your monetary contribution.
