Experiential, Brain-Friendly Teaching

Teachers are faced with the challenge of meeting the needs of a broad range of learning styles in their classrooms.

This 5- day course explores experiential methods to engage and motivate students, inspire a sense of discovery, instill a desire to learn, and create a positive and supportive school and classroom climate.

Topics Include:
Strategies for creating a positive environment for learning, starting on day one and maintaining it throughout the school year

Practical tools and engaging classroom activities that develop a healthy atmosphere of respect and trust, peer to peer and teacher to student

Methods to increase student engagement, buy-in, and a sense of ownership and responsibility for their learning experiences

Experiential techniques to help students practice and reinforce social and emotional skills such as problem-solving, empathy, communication and conflict-resolution skills

A variety of “brain-friendly” teaching approaches and interactive games and activities that will help liven up your academic lessons and differentiate instruction

These methods empower students to take more control of their learning and help encourage experimentation and creativity while reinforcing important social and emotional skills and support school initiatives and curriculum such as Tribes, Responsive Classroom, Character Education and Bullying and Harassment Prevention.
