High School Graduation Requirements

The District will comply with all state and federal laws, state guidelines and any employee contract language that pertains to high school graduation requirements.

Graduation requirements will be approved by the Board of Education with input from the community. Current graduation requirements are as follows:

  1. Graduating classes of 2012, 2013, and 2014 must earn 23.25 credits.

Service Learning

 

Addition – 40 hours over 4 years

  1. Diplomas will be awarded to transfer students from home-based private educational programs and transfer students with foreign transcripts if graduation requirements are met and such students are in attendance for at least one full semester at Middleton High School. Foreign exchange program students will not be awarded a Middleton High School diploma but will be given a certificate of attendance.
  2. Accommodations to the graduation requirements may also be made for other students with exceptional educational interests, needs or requirements in accordance with state law and established procedures. If a student is eligible for services under Section 504 or has ELL/Bilingual Learner Needs, promotion consideration will be based upon information from a variety of sources including annual proficiency testing as well as a review of any accommodations.

In order to be eligible for a 21st Century eSchool diploma, a student must have met the criteria stated in the charts above except for advisory, speech and the service learning project.
