West Middleton third-graders positively act out

Some West Middleton third-graders recently had the opportunity to participate in an original performance.

The students in Diane Boles' class performed the play, "Many Moons." She wrote the script based on a James Thurber story and performed it on May 31.

The story is about a princess who asks her father, the king, for the moon. He consults all of his wise men to get the moon, but none of them can retrieve it for the princess.

Ultimately the court jesters go to the princess and learn what she believes the moon would look like and they have a moon made for her.  The foolish jesters save the day, and the princess is cured.
