Becky Mallory was hired as the first assistant manager for the Middleton-Cross Plains Area Indoor Pool, 2230 Bristol St., at the beginning of summer.

Mallory was originally hired in September 2010 as a lifeguard. She heads up the pool’s swim lesson program.

She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a degree in psychology, and is continuing her education part time with classes in education. Prior to assuming her new role with the MCPA Pool, Becky was a life guard and taught swim lessons for the City of Madison on beaches and at Goodman pool.  She worked for the City of Waukesha at their pool and swam as a youth for the Waukesha Express Swim Club.

At the end of last school year she completed course work and became a Certified Swimming Pool Operator (CPO) that compliments her certifications as a Lifeguard, Lifeguard instructor, and Water Safety (swimming) Instructor.

"She is well liked by patrons and pool staff alike,'' Pool manager Ted Boyett said. "She was constantly one of the highest sought after private lesson instructors and now does a marvelous job of sharing her skills and talents with other instructors, elevating our entire program.''
