MHS students celebrated Issues Declaration Day this morning.
About 100 students lined up beginning at 7 a.m. to stake their claim to issues that will eventually become bills to be debated on,'' MHS social studies teacher David Piovanetti said.
The students are all studying U.S. Government and Politics — a new required course at MHS. where students simulate members of Congress. Over the course of the semester students choose political parties, draft bills, serve on committees, and ultimately debate bills in a full legislative session over two days in December.
