An Advanced Placement (AP) examination gives high school students the opportunity to receive college credit or advanced standing in a specific subject area based on their score on the examination.
AP offers 35 examinations in 19 disciplines. Most exams are two to three hours long. They will be given on national test dates in May. Students register through the Student Services Office by TBA.
** Students wishing to take the exams that are scheduled for the same time slot should ask their AP Coordinator to contact AP Services for late-testing exams (fees may apply).
**Studio Art - Last day for AP Coordinators to submit digital portfolios(by 8 pm EDT on Friday, May 11) and to gather 2-D Design and Drawing students for the physical portfolio assembly. Teachers should have forwarded students' completed digital portfolios to AP Coordinators before this date.
Students will be transported to all off site testing locations. All students are expected to ride the bus to and from the testing location. If a special circumstance requires that you not ride the bus, you MUST make arrangements at least ONE WEEK PRIOR to the test with Ms. Gurtner. All busses will leave from the PAC lobby at MHS. Busses for the morning tests will leave at 7:30am. Busses for the afternoon tests will leave at 11:30am. Please note that in some cases, students may not return from the afternoon test in time to ride a bus home from school.
