Arin Oppermann, Head Varsity Coach

Arin Oppermann attended Linn-Mar High School in Marion, Iowa. While playing for Linn-Mar, Coach Oppermann pitched two perfect games, hit 12 homeruns, was first team all state, was voted conference player of the year, and pitched on the Iowa All Star Team. After graduating, she attended school and played softball at Kirkwood Community College, and later transferred to Luther College, where she continued to play softball and pursue a degree in elementary education.

While in college, she began giving private pitching and hitting lessons, and after graduation in 2007, she began coaching for her old high school’s JV softball team. After two years coaching at Linn-Mar, Oppermann took a job as the assistant varsity coach for Springville High School in Springville, Iowa, where she also taught 4th grade.

After her 2009 season coaching softball at Springville, Coach Oppermann got married and moved to Madison, Wisconsin. While living in Madison, she took a job teaching in the Oregon School District, and later that year became one of Oregon’s JV coaches.

Coach Oppermann is now living on a farm in Fitchburg, and is in her first year as Middleton’s head varsity softball coach. She is also substitute teaching in the Middleton Cross Plains School District. Her husband Peter works at Epic in Verona.

Amy Siedschlag, Junior Varsity Coach
She is a 2002 graduate of Middleton High School and lettered in volleyball, basketball, and softball.Amy received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UW-La Crosse. While receiving her degrees she coached softball for two years at La Crosse Aquinas High School and worked with youth sports programs at the YMCA.She currentlyworks at UW Hospital in Madison and lives in Waunakee.

 

Natalie O'Connell , Junior Varsity Coach
This is coach O’Connell’s first year with the Middleton Softball Program. She is a 2003 graduate of Middleton. While in high school she participated in basketball and softball. After high school she attended Winona State University, where she received her teaching degree. She is currently teaching in Cross Plains at St. Francis Xavier School. Coach O’Connell lives in Waunakee with her husband and dog.

Stacy WoodStacy Wood, Freshman Coach
2012 will mark Coach Wood's 3rd year of coaching freshman softball at MHS. She is a 2003 graduate of Neenah High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As a softball player, Coach Wood played 3rd base, short stop, catcher, and second base; her favorite position was 3rd base! She teaches high school math here at Middleton High School and lives in Middleton with her husband, Geoff, who coaches boys club soccer.
