Schedules

All Middleton High School sports schedules are posted at www.Big8Conference.net. This site will give you the most current schedule information and will reflect any last minute changes.

Normal start times are as follows: varsity games at 7:30 p.m. varsity reserve at 10:00 a.m., sophomore games at 5:45p.m., and freshman games at 5:15 p.m.

Kevin Bavery , Varsity Coach
Kevin Bavery
Coach Kevin Bavery is in his 18th season as a head varsity basketball coach and his 3rd season a tthe helm for the Middleton Cardinals. Prior to Middleton, he was the head coach at Oregon High School fo 13 seasons, and at Cedarburg High School for 2 seasons. Overall, this is his 25th year os coaching basketball, having started in the 1982-83 season in Watertown as te sophomore coach for Hall of Fame coach Eli Crogan. Additionally he was the varsity football offensive coordinator for 7 seasons in Oregon, and coached 4 seasons of sophomore baseball there as well.

His basketball teams have won over 240 games and he left Oregon as having teh best winning percentage in their program history. His teams have won 6 regional championships, been to 4 sectional finals, and made one state tournament appearance in the 1999-2000 season. He has coached two teams that won more than 20 games, and 6 teams that have one 18 or more. Following the 2003-2004 season, he was selected to represent the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association as head coach for the Division 1 South All Star Team, a game which the South won.

Kevin has been married to his wife Mary (Packard) for 31 years and they are the proud parents of 5 children-Jessica, Lance, Derrick, Brittany, and Sonny.

 

Jerry Raffel, Assistant Varsity Coach

 

Jerry played 4 years of high school basketball at Madison East under former Middleton Head Basketball Coach John Boyle. After high school Jerry played 2 years college basketball at MATC under Coach Jack Brennigan and Jerry Lamers. During that time he was voted defensive player of the year. In 1989 he took a job with the Middleton Police Department. In 1993 he was asked by Coach John Boyle to assist with the Middleton program. In 2006, Coach Kevin Bavery took over as head coach and Coach Bavery was gracious to keep him on his staff and gave him the Head Coaching position of Varsity Reserve team. Jerry spent 3 years as the high school "Police School Liaison Officer" and taught DARE for 7 years in the in the elementary schools. Jerry has four children, two of which are in high school at Middleton and one in middle school and one in elementary school.

Tim Simon, Junior Varsity CoachTim Simon, Junior Varsity Coach
Tim Simon teaches physics as a member of the science department at Middleton High School. He has been coaching football at Middleton since 1992; where he started out as a volunteer assistant with the sophomore team. From there he went on to be the head freshman football coach for 4 years, the head sophomore football coach for 6 years and an assistant varsity coach for 1 year. Tim became the head football coach in 2004. Tim also coaches sophomore boys basketball and has been doing so since starting as a teacher at Middleton High. Tim had also coached freshman baseball 7 years earlier in his career at Middleton High School.

CConohanChris Conohan , Freshman White Head Coach

Chris Conohan has coached athletes of all ages in the game of basketball. He began his prep coaching career as the Head Coach of the Sophomore girls at Middleton. After two wonderful seasons with the Cardinals, Chris left to take a Head Varsity Coaching position at Wisconsin Heights with their girls program. Chris stepped away from coaching for two years with the birth of his two boys. He then returned to coaching in 2009, switching from the girls to boys program and becoming the Freshmen White Coach for Middleton High School. In addition to basketball, he has coached girls volleyball at Wisconsin Heights High School.

Chris has been an elementary school teacher at Elm Lawn for 7 years. Currently, he teaches 4th grade. Chris was a Graphic Designer for a time, but switched to teaching after several great experiences coaching youth athletics.

Steigenberger.Clint Steigenberger, Freshman Red Coach
Clint Steigenberger is a 1997 graduate of Pulaski High School. Clint earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May of 2002. Clint began teaching Physical Education and Health at Middleton in 2003. He began coaching basketball at MHS during the 2003-2004 season.

Will Hudson was named a co-captain for the 2010-2011 season for the Oakland Grizzlies.
