Parent Program- March 6

Did you know that a 2008 report from the Department of Health Services says 37% of Wisconsin teenagers tried marijuana and 23% took prescription pain relievers for non-medical purposes? Adolescence is a time of trying on different "hats" and roles. One of these hats can be experimentation with alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.

Please join us at Glacier Creek Middle School on Tuesday, March 6, at 6:30pm for a 60-90 minute presentation and discussion to learn more about this important topic. Mary Kay Aide from Connections Counseling will present current information on adolescent alcohol and other drug use. Mary Kay has over 25 years working with individuals, couples, and families in a variety of settings and organizations, such as day treatments for youth, community mental health, employee assistance consulting, and private practice. She has a master's in Rehabilitation Counseling, with an emphasis in AODA issues, is a Professional Certified Coach and Licensed Professional Counselor.

You can no longer find it under Staff Information, which has now been renamed Class Websites to better reflect the information found in that tab. Sorry for any confusion.

What are Middle Schoolers interested in Reading?
For the second time this year, as part of our district literacy engagement goal, KMS students voiced their opinions about reading in an online Reading Interest Survey. Results indicate the type of material students enjoy reading, how much time they spend reading, and their feelings toward reading. This information is helpful when determining school-wide, classroom, and outside reading opportunities for middle school students.
