WEB, which stands for "Where Everybody Belongs" is a middle school orientation and transition program that welcomes 5th graders to GCMS and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their middle school experience. Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, the program trains mentors from our 8th-grade class to be WEB Leaders. As positive role models, WEB Leaders are mentors and student leaders who guide the 5th graders to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to middle school and help facilitate 5th-grade success.
Soon-to-be GCMS 8th graders will have the opportunity to learn leadership skills that will transfer to their own schooling and future endeavors. Please encourage your child/ren to take on a role that will help build the culture of GCMS with a focus on kindness, integrity, and character.
Students have two options to choose from when applying to WEB:
- WEB applications are available from 7th grade Language Arts teachers Mrs. Cochems and Mrs. Russell, or can be accessed through the link below. Completed applications may be given to Mrs. Kern (Rm 111).
As another option, students may create and submit a video in which they answer the application questions. Creativity and outside-of-the-box thinking is encouraged. Videos may be shared with Mrs. Kern (email@example.com
