MyCampus
Parent Portal
The Middleton-Cross Plains
Area School District will provide access to
parents and guardians to MyCampus, an on-line
link to your child's grades, progress reports,
attendance, and more. An internet connection
is all that is needed. To access MyCampus,
parents or guardians must submit a signed copy
of a MyCampus
Parent Portal User Agreement to the Glacier
Creek office. MyCampus Parent Portal User Agreement
forms are available in the Glacier Creek Main
office. Once the district receives a user agreement
form, login information will be sent to individual
families. Families with more than one student
in the middle or high school need only register
once to gain access to information for each
student. This feature is only available for
middle and high school. The contact person
for MyCampus at Glacier Creek Middle School
is Susan Olson in Student Services.

Literacy Goals and the Word of the Day
The MCPASD has launched a district initiative to improve student literacy skills and instruction. At the middle schools one of our goals is to encouraging interest in reading and words throughout the middle school years, something we know through research tends to decline in most students during this time. One strategy we are using is a "Word of the Day" campaign. We want parents to be involved too. Each day we will let you know the word of the day through our Twitter update (below). We hope you use the word in conversation at home, or to start a dinnertime discussion. Let us know your thoughts!
Read On Wisconsin
Parents, join GCMS students in Read On Wisconsin!, a statewide book club for students and book-lovers across the state. Get involved in Read On by reading and discussing fascinating young adult books. This year’s top picks are recommended by students and educators across Wisconsin. Through the club, students, teachers, and parents can read and discuss award-winning books in and out of the classroom. Students read each month's selected book, attend lunch discussions, and post their opinions and reactions on web logs. See http://readon.wi.gov/ for more information.
Lunch Accounts
Our lunch program is working with a new system this year. To help make the transition as smooth as possible it is important for families to make sure they are monitoring their balances and responding quickly to low balances. It is also important, especially in the first few days of school, for students to know their lunch ID number. If you have any questions regarding the lunch program, please contact the Lunch Express Program (829-2343)

New Traffic Pattern at GCMS
Beginning Monday, November 3, our after school pickup traffic patterns will change. Between 3:00 and 3:30 cars will not be allowed in the lane closest to school on the south side of the building (front of the building). New handicap parking and visitor/pickup spots will be designated in the main parking area closest to the crosswalk. Other areas designated for student pickup around the building will not change.
Breakfast at Glacier Creek
Just a quick reminder that breakfast is served each morning at Glacier
Creek until 7:55 a.m. It is only $1.50 and can be charged against your
lunch express account. An adequate breakfast is key to good day of
learning!
A
Safety Thank You
Thanks
to all parents and visitors who have complied with our request to sign-in
at our front office and wear a visitor's badge while in the building!
We are continuing to monitor and assess access to our building and may
make further changes to enhance our ability to provide a safe environment
for our students and staff. If you have thoughts, or suggestions related
to this topic please feel free to contact us. |
